“VOTE EARTH – your vote is your light switch”
Created to make a stand between Earth and global warming. By switching of the lights is a vote for Earth, while leaving them on is a vote for global warming. You surely don’t want to vote for global warming, right!? We have to support this as humans that dwell on earth, they say “it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from”. This year aims to target 1 billion votes, so that it can be presented to world leaders, and take action against global warming.
So you are going to do Earth Hour and turn off your lights for one hour from 8:30pm to 9:30pm Saturday March 28 2009. Be ready coz it’s going to be dark, but night sky will shine upon us, we can use candles most preferably the beeswax candles, don’t use paraffin candles coz it’ll just pollute and somewhat affects the greenhouse because of carbon dioxide emitted by burning paraffin candles. Just use any alternative lighting that don’t emit carbon dioxide, consider oil lanterns made with oils, salt and matchstick in a recycled glass jar not too high for the matchstick. Put a good amount of salt that can stand hold the matchstick (you can also put cotton around the matchstick), then pour oil; cooking oil/food oils is fine. Light the matchstick. Voila! Earth friendly lantern. And this could go night long based on my experience. Or just enjoy the darkness, bonding moments, telling stories (scary stories). 
Earth hour watts down, conserved energy and make a statement.

I’d signed up and will do the earth hour, my act will have nothing to do with everybody’s beliefs, may it be for pro or cons, for fact or nonsense, for true or false, if you want support or not, etc. And it doesn’t matter if by doing this I saved some energy or electricity. What matters to me is the concerns, the efforts of the people to make a statement and try to reach the 1 billion votes, only to be heard by world leaders to make/take some action for some serious concerns and that we are looking to them to do and decide what is right and that the time to act now.
This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.
Signing up will count your votes, turning off the lights will show the world that your concern and participating.

The new Vote Earth 2009 global website has launched. There is an element on the site that incorporates Google’s Friend Connect and we want to get 1 billion people on the site by November before Copenhagen.
To get involved, all you need to do is:
