The GScrot before is now Shutter! If your wondering what it is, shutter is a feature rich screenshot program for linux based system. Like for windows its the PrtSc SysRq button or the Print Screen key(that’s Windows), but Shutter(Linux) offers much more than just taking a screenshot. Sometimes we want to take a specific area only for our screenshots, manually we take screenshot i.e taking eiken screenshots (it’s wide whole screen), then use some image editing software like Photoshop to crop the specific area we want. Shutter simplify this process, it’s a whole program that is dedicated for this process. And will make life easier.
You can take a screenshot of a specific area, window, your whole screen, or even of a website – apply different effects to it, draw on it to highlight points, and then upload to an image hosting site, all within one window.

Screencapture made easy
It also have print feature, and a wide range of formats to save images.
You can download at shutter-project.org. Or if you prefer PPA installation here is the guide.
Happy screenshot taking!
